The Testimonies of Roma and Sinti project is the result of several years of teamwork between historians, scholars in Romani studies, literary and language editors, translators, programmers, cartographers and graphic designers. Over the years, some of the team members have changed. Many thanks to all of them for their unique contribution to the project.

Renata Berkyová

Renata Berkyová has participated in developing the structure of the database, is the main advisor on the design of the website, and processes abstracts of source publications (used and others).

Kateřina Čapková

Kateřina Čapková is the initiator and head of the project. She has designed the structure of the database, established a team of collaborators, and is responsible for adding historical context to the abstracts.

Barbara Day

Barbara Day is the translator of the abstracts of the Roma testimonies into English.

Petr Dvořáček

Petr Dvořáček edits and proofreads the abstracts of Romani testimonies in the Czech language.

Marek Jandák

Marek Jandák is since 2022 the project coordinator of the Romani survivors’ testimonies database and the person responsible for the filling of the database in the CMS program.

Ilana Khomiakova

Ilana Khomiakova was the author of the first design proposal for the website Testimonies of Roma and Sinti and of the unique icons for the maps.

Dana Léw

Dana Léw was our key IT consultant and programmer in the early years of the project and the author of the first version of the database in Omeka.

Radka Patočková

Radka Patočková is processing the testimonies of Romani witnesses into a database and is the author, together with Eva Zdařilová, of the abstracts of the testimonies.

Ján Regeš

Janek Regeš, CTO of SiteOne, was responsible for the digitization of the database and led a team of experts who ensured the final functionality, design and look of the online platform.

Waldemar Spallek

With Waldemar Spallek we consulted the geodatabase and its geovisualisation.

Anna Štičková

Anna Štičková was the coordinator of the project Testimonies of Roma and Sinti from fall 2019 till the end of 2021.

Milena Tučná

Milena Tučná edited and proofread the first 100 abstracts of Romani testimonies and the glossary in the Czech language. She also helped us to set rules for the style and use of some terms.

Gerald Turner

Gerald Turner is together with Barbara Day translating the abstracts of the testimonies into English. He is also proof-reading the English translations.

Eva Zdařilová

Eva Zdařilová is processing the testimonies of Romani witnesses into a database and is the author, together with Radka Patočková, of the abstracts of the testimonies.
